Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

For Pottery & Craft Classes:

You can cancel for a refund up to 7 days before your pottery class. After this date there are no refunds, only rescheduling options.

• Example: Class is 6:30pm on Sunday the 21st, you have until 6:30pm on Sunday the 14th to cancel and receive a refund.

You can reschedule up to 4 days before your class.

• Example: Class is 6:30pm on Sunday the 21st, you have until 6:30pm on Wednesday the 17th to reschedule.

Within 3 days of your class, there is no rescheduling or refunds.

• Example: Class is 6:30pm on Sunday the 21st; after Wednesday the 17th at 6:30pm. If you still want to attend class, you will need to book a new class if you cannot make your original class time.

For Woodworking Classes:

You can cancel for a refund within 3 days of your class. After this point, there are no refunds.

• Example: Class is 6:30pm on Sunday the 21st; after Wednesday the 17th at 6:30pm. If you still want to attend class, you will need to wait until a new class is offered and book again.

Instructions:

To cancel or reschedule a session within the approved timeframes:

• Click the links in your confirmation email.

• If it is too close to the class session to cancel or reschedule, those links will no longer work. You will need to book another class and pay again through the website.

Waveform is a small, artist-run studio: this cancellation policy protects the business and the owner-operator’s ability to run it! Thank you for understanding.

Arrival Instructions

Please plan for an additional 10 minutes to locate street parking upon arrival and get settled in the space.

There is a 5 minute grace period for group classes. After that period has passed, the doors lock and class has started. I am not available to assist you as I am giving my full attention to teaching. You will be unable to enter the building if you are late and will unfortunately miss class. Refunds are not available for late arrivals.

Kid Policy

Pottery Classes:

• Students 6 -12 years old need to be booked alongside a peer, sibling and/or guardian for a private pottery class (see Claydates). Waveform can work with kiddos as young as 6.

• Students 13 years old and up are folded in with adult clients; Intergenerational sessions are opportunities for all of the students to learn from how different stages of life approach the wheel.

Craft Classes:

• Wood-burning and Sober Sip ‘n’ Paint are for ages 15 and up.

Woodworking Classes:

• All woodworking classes are for ages 18 and up.

Mask Policy

In solidarity with disabled and immunocompromised community, and in the interest of protecting students, instructors and those we are close to from COVID-19 and other airborne illnesses, masks are available at the studio and we continue to mask in the studio if requested by a participant to do so. This website is updated regularly.

Pick Up

When your pottery is ready for pick up, you’ll receive an email with pick up instructions. Please check your spam and updates, as newsletters often go there. Work is available for two months after the initial notification and then will be curbed, as the studio does not have capacity to store work indefinitely! Click here for drop-in hours for pick up once you have received notification.

Consent

Waveform often offers hands-on assists to demonstrate pressure, pace or hand movements. They ask for strong verbal consent throughout the session. Participants also are asked for permission for photographs in the booking intake form.

Pronouns

Waveform is a place where we can be present with one another: the instructor offers their pronouns (they/them) and takes note of yours. We do our best to get these right, and most importantly are respectful of queer and trans identities.

Accommodations

Waveform can make accommodations: if you aren’t sure participation is possible for you due to illness, disability, injury, sensitivities or any kind of requirement please reach out so we can brainstorm. There is often an accommodation or adjustment Waveform can make. Often an accommodation improves the session for you and others and helps systems continuously evolve into more accessible offerings.

Equity Fund / Sliding Scale

All tips go towards the Equity Fund, which makes sliding scale for Claybody offerings and Single Drop-Ins possible. The Equity Fund prioritizes QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous & People of Color). If you would like to sign up for a bundle and take ongoing classes we discuss a rate beforehand that is sustainable for you. If you’re interested in contributing to the fund you can always Venmo (@waveformceramics) or PayPal the studio a donation with a note, “for the Equity Fund!.” Waveform community covered over $3,000 in tuition in the first two years of business.
